Celebrate International Children’s Book Day with IBBY Cambodia: April 2nd
IBBY Cambodia will celebrate International Children’s Book Day on April 2nd. This date marks the birthday of the famous author Hans Christian Andersen. International Children’s Book Day (ICBD) is celebrated to inspire a love of reading and to call attention to children’s books. This is the first year that we will celebrate this day in Cambodia.
In hosting this event we aim to raise awareness among teachers on how to animate activities around children books, and to raise awareness among parents on the importance of books for children as well as participating in reading activities with their children. We also hope to expose new readers to the pleasure of reading.
Please join us to celebrate the day at World Kids International School, #190, Street 430 & 468, Toul Tom Pong II, from 08:00 to 11:00.
You and your children can join in storytelling, drawing, puppets, kamishibai, a magic show, and more with our member organizations, Room to Read, Sipar, SVA, and others. The event is aimed at young readers, toddlers and upwards, although all are welcome to attend. Teachers and librarians please bring your class! If you are planning to attend with a group, please do send us an email in advance to info@ibbycambodia.org so we can be prepared for your arrival.
IBBY Cambodia would also like to thank our generous sponsors who have made this event possible:
